This Education & Training Resource Guide is provided by the North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce and was built (free of charge) by Tutor Matching Service (a division of Study Edge). We would like to thank Career Source North Central Florida for the vision, guidance, and strategic input they provided during the development of this resource. In 2015, local community leaders (led by the Education and Youth Committee of CareerSource North Central Florida (CSNFL)) realized that local job seekers were frequently unaware of the range of education, training, and job placement opportunities available across the region. They did not have a quick and easy way to explore the full range of programs and services at their disposal, leaving many great opportunities underutilized. It became clear that the region needed a “one-stop” online resource guide that could better connect people with education, training, and job support opportunities that fit their needs, interests, and schedules.
This resource aims to meet that need by aggregating and providing information about the many services available to job seekers in Alachua and Bradford Counties. Designed with input from job-seekers, service providers, and people across the local business community, this website provides a convenient, comprehensive, and searchable database for anyone seeking resources to improve their skills and advance their career. It is 100% free to job seekers and local organizations that submit opportunities to be listed.
The database is hosted by Gainesville-based education technology company Tutor Matching Service, a division of Study Edge. Tutor Matching Service uses proprietary code to match students of all ages with university-certified and university-trained tutors from top colleges and universities. Ethan Fieldman, 2015 Chair of the Education and Youth Committee of CSNCFL and founder of Tutor Matching Service, shared some of the Tutor Matching Service code to allow job seekers to search the resources in this database by type, location, duration, and other key criteria that can help ensure a productive match. Fieldman also serves on the statewide board of Take Stock in Children.
Tutor Matching Service’s staff is committed to updating the resource guide on a quarterly basis. To submit a new local resource, please click the ‘Submit Resource’ button above. To amend an existing listing, please email ResourceGuide@TutorMatchingService.com.
